Frederick Judd Waugh was an American artist known for his marine art, particularly marinescapes, ship camouflage, and legendary and mythological themes. Born in 1861 in Bordentown, New Jersey, he studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia and the Académie Julian in Paris. His work was influenced by artists such as Thomas Eakins and Adolphe-William Bouguereau, and he was a peer of Everett L. Warner and Harold Van Buskirk. Waugh passed away in 1940.
